In February 2016 Laura joined The Global Resource for Advancing Cancer Education as Program Coordinator. A native Italian, Laura has over 15 years of experience working in the non-profit sector. She spent the last 10 years living and working in South East Asia, Latin America, Europe and the USA where she oversaw the management and development of education programs in disaster affected areas. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian and loves working with people of different backgrounds and cultures. Laura holds a B.A. Degree in Film Studies from the University of California at Berkeley and a M.A. Degree in Development Studies from Italy.
When she was young, Laura lost her father due to melanoma. This experience drove her decision of starting to work in the non-profit sector and helping others. When offered the opportunity to work with The Global Resource for Advancing Cancer Education she felt honored to be part of such a valuable and fast-growing organization. The fact of losing someone she loved moved her to wanting to help others who live through cancer and GRACE offered the perfect opportunity to do so.
Aside from her passion in the non-profit field, Laura enjoys traveling and developing contacts and relationships with diverse communities in the USA and abroad. She is an untiring hiker and runner and likes cooking Italian food as much as she can. She is never tired of learning new languages and her goal is to learn two more languages in the future.
