My Wife Joanne
« on: August 23, 2009, 08:35:44 AM »
Hi All - My wife Joanne, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 20th after a 2 1/2 battle with NSCLC.  She did very well on Tarceva for 1 1/2 years, then onto chemo.  She was active until around the first week in July when she got her three month scans which showed spread in both lungs and brain mets.  She spent the last two weeks at home in hospice care.  The hospice nurses and staff were a great help to us.
We know that she is now rejoicing in heaven with Jesus.

Thank you Dr. West for all your past kind help and quick responses to my email questions.  You are the best.

Regards,

Michael Sampl

Michael,

I want to say how sorry I and other people here are for your loss -- it's so clear how deeply you cared for her.  I'm glad she had you there through all of this difficult struggle.

You're very welcome, and I'm gratified that I and other people here could provide some useful information and support.
