I am not Dr. West, but I would go elsewhere for a second opinion. Even if inoperable now, after chemo it might be? Or chemo/radiation might be the proper therapy? I’m concerned that your note here might not be seen. My friend was deemed inoperable two plus years ago - she had chemo, then surgery and is still showing as free of cancer. She’s one of my role models.

This location is really for leaving comments about the site. Please ask questions on the GRACE discussion (Q&A) boards:

For now, I’d say that the treatment of the cancer itself may help a lot with the pain, but aside from that, it’s totally appropriate to ask for and receive pain medicines. Aside from over the counter medicines like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, narcotics like morphine or oxycodone or fentanyl may be needed. These are routinely needed and offered by oncologists and other physicians treating cancer. Pain is something we are usually quite able to treat if we pay sufficient attention to it.

GRACE is wonderful! I registered today after many, many visits to the site since my diagnosis because I have something useful to add and because I have a question to ask. It was my Oncologist who told me about the site, and I am very grateful. It is valuable to get such accurate, useful and upbeat information. Many thanks to Dr. West et al from GRACE and to all my compatriots.

The site seems wonderful and I’m glad I found it. Don’t know if I did the right thing by posting under the article I found interesting by Dr West, re. LCNEC. If I get a reply, I’ll know. thank you for this valuable site. SS

GRACE has been an amazing and incredible resource since my mom’s diagnosis and words can’t express my gratitude - I wish I wasn’t still paying off my student loan and I had a substantial amount of money saved up, so I could donate a significant amount of money to GRACE. But if I ever win the lottery or more realistically, as I further my successes with my career, I will try to contribute to GRACE what I can.

GRACE is invaluable in that it provides open communication, an ongoing discussion, and a culture of learning (for lung cancer at the moment) that is unmatched anywhere on the internet. Thank you to all involved, for your hard work.

I’m having the hardest time getting back to Dr. West’s reply to my question and to view my old posts so that I can copy them. I find it is hard to navigate Grace website. Can you advise?
