I have no profile / bio information. I have the message at the top of the page: ‘An automated WordPress update has failed to complete! Please notify the site administrator’

OK, now you are notified. Would like to retrieve the signature (?) info that used to be at the bottom of my posts.

Thank you.

Webmaster Mark

onthego_ma & njliu,

Can you guys try to access your profile again please. We’ve been making a lot of changes on the server and I suspect that you may have been trying to reach your profile when we were doing some updates.

I was able to enter test signatures in both of your accounts, and a test bio into your account njliu, but neither of you actually had any signature data stored.

Thanks and let me know if you have continued problems.

Cheers,

-Mark

Mark has found a source for what is likely the problem. He’s working on the fix now. It may take a bit of time, but I think we (Mark) have identified the issue and can now constructively remedy the situation.

I sincerely apologize to the people who have been affected. We’ll be reaching out to you soon to clarify the timing of the planned update of the user database.

Hi Mark,
OK. The message of “automated wordpress update failed” at the top has disappeared. Replaced by ” thank you for updating with wordpress” at the bottom. I can update the Bio, but I do not see any Signature section.

Njlui,

The Forum Signature can’t be edited in the WordPress Dashboard, but only by using the (Edit Signature) link located on your public profile here in the forums. Please see this GRACE Site Tips post for information about how to set your profile bio and forum signature.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Cheers,

Hi Mark, Sorry to bother you. I may belong to those that wish were born in the nineties, although I wish to believe I have the basic computer literacy. I am unable to find EDIT Signature link in my profile. I got to my profile page via “clicking PROFILE link, or clicking EDIT PROFILE link” at “Howdy, user name” at the top right corner. Found no EDIT Signature link. Please advise.

njliu,

Your forum signature is NOT stored in the WordPress Dashboard. Just click on your linked name here in the forums, which will show your public profile. Then you should see the (Edit Signature) link on that page. Click it, then enter your signature into the only field on the page, then submit.

Let me know,

-Mark
