Dear all, We don't do pop-ups or send lots of messages asking for support, but we do depend on your support to continue to offer our services at no cost. I do everything I do for GRACE with no pay because I want to donate the many hours of my time, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, as well as thousands of dollars of my own money to keep it going. I hope you will reflect on the support, timely information, and sense of community offered here, for yourself and others around the world, and make a tax-deductible donation to ensure that we can keep doing what we know truly helps people who need that help at a very difficult time. Thanks, and a happy and healthy 2015 to all. -Dr. West |

I first joined GRACE back in 2008 when my wife was diagnosed with lung cancer. I had been scouring the internet looking for authoritative information which could help us understand the disease and our treatment options. I was amazed at the wealth of quality information on the site, which I hadn't found anywhere else. GRACE became our most trusted asset throughout her cancer battle. Although GRACE charges no user fees to access all of its valuable content and access to the forums, we do rely on contributions from our members to cover our operating costs. In addition, we're working on a major upgrade to the site, which will introduce exciting new features to make the GRACE experience more user-friendly and helpful, as well as more community-oriented. Please consider a donation in whatever amount you can. You can do so by clicking this link. And keep up-to-date on the latest GRACE developments by subscribing to our free e-newsletter. Thank you for using GRACE, and for supporting Dr. West's vision of providing quality cancer information to people all over the world. JimC |

Hello, I also have always had pain in my middle and ring finger on and off (right arm) with and without the Honer's syndrome symptoms showing. Recently the pain in my finger has gone to my radius/ulnar part of the arm and then I felt it in my scapula w/ slight neck. It's not unbearable pain but it's painful and uncomfortable and I don't always stay in pain. I also experienced arm muscle spasms today. I searched up these pains with horner's syndrome and saw Pancoast syndrome. I don't have any family or friends that smoke so I don't know why I would have lunch cancer but I never found the smoke of cigarettes to smell bad when I did pass by someone smoking and didn't try keeping that smoke-air from entering my lungs. I doubt that little of smoke would cause cancer though. Is there anything that could be causing the pain in my arm and scapula besides Pancoast and should I get this checked out? Right now I can't afford all these medical tests and I don't have insurance either so Im reluctant in having tests unless I know my life is at risk. Thank you |

How can I subscribe to get email notices of all new discussions added to a forum category, like the ones for Stage IV NSCLC or BAC? I thought this capability used to exist at one time with a button for subscribing to a whole category, but I can't find the button for that now. Best hopes, Craig |

I wanted to jump in and say that I think the changes that have been adopted on the site make a difference and that it's better! With a little more experience, I might get the hang of things again. And before any of that happened, I was wanting to post a big SHOUT OUT to Mark and Dr. West for what has become a HUGE new favorite feature for me -- the email notification of a reply to a post. That one feature reduced my frustration with trying to keep up with whatever might be happening on the site to a manageable level. I'm not sure about whether the "subscribe" to this post and the check box for sending an email in the event a reply is posted work the same way or differently, though. I have "subscribed" to a few posts, but don't know what I'm looking for in terms of notification as a result of that functionality. I'm also not sure about how to "sort out" and effectively use what's contained in the "Cancer Info" and "Discuss"drop down menus. The titles suggest (to me, at least) that the "Cancer Info" is a link to more static content (though I know that's not true) and the "Discuss" header suggests that this is the tab you'd use to initiate a topic or engage in a Forum. I'll keep looking at it and try to figure out what I'm doing...or trying to do. Sometimes I don't even know. Maybe later, we can figure out how to disaggregate some of the content that's been posted during this interim period and get a handle on what categories seem to resonate most with folks. Thanks for hanging in there with us. I think we're getting closer to where we all want to be. Yahoo! |
