Become your best advocate. Knowledge is power, take charge of your path.
For this series, GRACE sat down with Marco Ruiz, MD, an oncologist at Memorial Cancer Institute specializing in hematologic or blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and myelofibrosis.
Dr. Marco Ruiz is a Medical Oncologist in Hematologic Cancers specializing in leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, myelofibrosis, HIV related malignancies, stem cell transplants, geriatric oncology, and palliative medicine at the Miami Cancer Institute in Miami, Florida. He is also an experienced bone marrow transplant specialist and is active in cancer research. Growing up the son of a nurse, Dr. Ruiz knew at a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. But it was his father’s battle with cancer that sparked a passion for helping patients with the disease.
