Hi again,
I have been putting all my med notes in order and just wanted to check something. A couple of years ago I started to see a GI doc. Liver function tests were in range but some other chemicals connected to the liver were not quite right. One called out was SHBG being high. Various x rays and scans using chalk were all clear. Just as the GI doc was giving me the all clear from cancer, a scan which touched on the lungs picked something up. That was late last year and I was diagnosed with limited disease. More recently a scan showed spots in the liver, and I am now extensive. Is it possible that the slight abnormalities picked up in the liver tests two years ago could have been the first sign of mets to the liver which took some time to get going?
Regards and thank you
RW

Hi RW,
Hi RW,
It would be unlikely that liver metastases that were not seen on scans were affecting liver function, and just as unlikely that they would take so long to develop to the point where they can be imaged. SCLC doesn't tend to move that slowly.

Did they biopsy the liver? If not, that's what I'd want done next just to be sure.
Take care, Judy

Hi,
Hi,
They did not biopsy the liver spots just started me on ipilimumab and opdivo, but I am feeling some pain from liver area. It feels worse now than it did two or so years ago when it was more of a noticeable ache. Probably too long ago to be connected to the lung cancer then, especially with good liver function test and scan showing nothing to worry us.
