I start radiation/chemo next week, I don't know if there are different types of radiation, on the schedule
It said s something like GFR or similar letters ? the chemo is called Carboplatin and Taxol, Dr s a I'd it's
low dose and side effects shouldn't be bad, these are going to be 1 x wks. Chemo. Radiation daily for
6 weeks....in hopes that it gets rid of local reoccurrence of adenocarcinoma NSCC stage2A. 2 nodes in mind
Chest area, I am debating to get a port or not? I am still having pain from my wedge resection in June...I have watched the procedure online and looks painful, I am thin and definitely don't have much fat, small gains
so Dr think s I should consider..... So now I'm worried about the success of getting rid of the nodes....but now
the pokes weekly or the port....appreciate any replays entire post. Thank You. M M

Just want to wish you luck on the coming treatment. It sounds very hopeful and appropriate.

The port is a choice you'll need to make with your doc. With one line of treatment at 4 to 6 cycles it's probably a toss up between the possibility of trouble with the port and jabs x4 or 6. Ports are pretty safe but sometimes they can get clogged and infection can sometimes happen.

All the best,
Janine
