What do the symptoms of pancoast tumour feel like in real life?

Discussion Topic

Hi,

I've trawled through the website and seen many concerned threads of people who thought they had Pancoast cancer.

I was just wondering what the symptoms are in real life?

E.g. With the shoulder pain/upper back pain cause by Pancoast, are there spots in the back that ache like trigger points or is there no pain in the muscles at all?

When diagnosed with Horner syndrome, did you have all of the symptoms of drooping eyelids, smaller pupils and lack of sweat or was it only a smaller pupil for instance?

Pancoast Tumor

Discussion Topic

Looking for some insight as I am concerned about having a Pancoast Tumor. I am 44yr old female smoker that quit 6months ago. In July, I started to have tingling/numbness in my pinky and outside ring finger and palm of my hand.  It has been constant and has never stopped it correlates to the Ulnar Nerve. As time has progressed I am having more scapula, shoulder chest and arm pain...not constant and it's tolerable. I had a chest X-ray in April (before this began) and a cervical X-ray a few weeks ago..nothing majorly found.

GGO and FDG uptake

Discussion Topic

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I'm grateful to have found this site.I created a post a few minutes ago but I can't find it! I hope I'm not duplicating this. I was diagnosed stage 1A add no carcinoma in August 2020. I had my upper left lobe removed via VATs surgery. My tumor was 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.1 cm, adenocarcinoma, lepidic predominant with focal papillary feature.  Grade 1-2, well to moderately differentiated. At the time of diagnosis, a PET scan showed a maximum SUV of 24.2 (which I believe is extremely high).

Malignant Pleural Effusion

Discussion Topic

Hi all, I’m hoping someone can help here

I was diagnosed with stage 4 in 2018 due to a malignant pleural effusion and have been on Tagrisso ever since due to EGFR mutation. I am still on that but am trying to think ahead for when I do progress..hopefully not for a long while though.

From pretty much day 1 my consultant has warned that it is very unlikely that I will be eligible for any clinical trials due to not having a measurable tumour as the MPE is (all!) I have, no solid tumour has been seen.

Now does that mean;

Covid vaccine efficacy

Discussion Topic

Hi.  I have stage 4 NSCLC, been on Tagrisso for over a year.  I’m 72 and very healthy otherwise.  I’m fully vaccinated, but nobody - including my doctor - can tell me how well the Covid vaccine is likely to work for someone in my situation.  Where I live,  there is talk of booster shots for people on chemo, but not TKIs.  The antibody tests available are only to see if you have had Covid, not how well  the vaccine is working.  Any thoughts?  Thank you!
