I thought I'd report in that we received the results this a.m. from my wife's Friday evening (quarterly) pelvis-chest CT and brain MRI scans and the results are very good. The source tumor remains "gone" (my words, not theirs), the remaining sclerotic lesions remain stable and there is no evidence of disease in her brain. Big relief! We work hard to "hold our nerve" as it were, but with a compilation of new symptoms (including issues with her jaw since XMAS that are rather TMJ-like (but not TMJ), swelling feet that transitioned to a feeling of being compressed, and new joint pains in her hips), we were particularly concerned. Obviously, relieved today and looking forward to meeting with her oncologist tomorrow. Thinking of you all, Dan

Yahooooooo! Wonderful!!!! Great news!!!

I have just one question, Dan. . .Was the ovarian tumor a met from the lung (which I would imagine is very very unusual) or was a second primary tumor? Just curious. . .

Thanks much, everyone. Laya, the ovarian tumor was lung cancer. They compared it against a sample of the source tumor and it was an exact match. They told us that an ovarian tumor is not very common, but can happen. Interestingly, we met with three different specialists when my wife was first diagnosed and one commented that based on the way the disease has spread, that it wasn't entirely behaving the way lung cancer does.
