Welcome to Grace. I'm very sorry you need to be here but I hope we can help. I know how frieghtening it is to be new in the world of cancer care, knowing nothing but needing to know it all. Your mom can get excellent care just about anywhere. There are excellent and knowledgeable oncologist to be found at even the smallest of cancer centers. But the obvious place to look for the best lung cancer specialist is in a large teaching/research center where lung cancer specialists see lots of nsclc and always have the most up to date research happening by them and around them.

If you're mother doesn't live near one such center it's possible to travel to get an opinion from one such specialist then have treatment done in a cancer center near home; then visiting the 2nd opinion doctor at times of transition.
