48 year old male histoty of acromegaly 20 years ago trested with octeotride surgery and radiotherapy.
Diagnosed with high grade small cell non secretary neuroendocrine cancer in left ethmoid sinus. PET scan showed it had metastasized into spine ribs and pelvis.
Only symptom was turn in left eye. Pain following biopsy over left eye. Told no cure. Started palliative chemo thursday with carboplatin and epotiside.
Are there any curative pathways/ treatments in situations like this or is palliative treatment only option?
Dies anyone have ANY info as this seems quite rare too?

Hi and welcome to Grace. I'm so sorry you've been diagnosed with this rare cancer. Unfortunately your information is right, small cell neuroendocrine cancer is almost always aggressive and difficult to treat. When it's progressed to the spine it is considered not curable but it is treatable. That means if you respond to treatments of chemo or other anti cancer drugs the cancer can be kept at bay for a while.
Since this is a rare cancer there won't be much good data specific to your cancer so a specialist may be the best to know what's on the forefront in treating this.
A second opinion from a specialist in head and neck cancers may be best able to lead you to possible clinical trials that are testing immunotherapy drugs and Tyrosine-kinase inhibitors. I've pasted a link to clinicaltrials.gov with results that may pertain to you.
