I'm clueless. Did I miss the party? From the recent posts it seems there have been changes implemented to the site...I kind of feel like I showed up late! I was busy at another party this last week celebrating my big 5-0 birthday May 2nd along with my 1 year cancer survivor anniversary (aka life anniversary)! I was on Inspire, an online lung cancer survivor website and just discovered this site. I look forward to learning more about it although I feel like I'm already missing interacting with the docs!

Welcome Laurie, Congratulations on the birthday and especially the 1 year anniversary! Are you on treatment or are you cured 1 year?
I know you will appreciate the site even more as you click around and see what all Grace has to offer. There is a blog part to the site that is short articles written by the faculty on just about anything you can think of. But if you think of something not in a blog chances are it will be once it is brought to light that most of us are in the dark about it. That may be hard to follow but once I saw the light and dark analogy I had to go with it.
There is an option to write a signature about your cancer history. It will give everyone the opportunity to see where you've been without you having to repeat it every time you have a question and it makes it easy for the doctors to understand better the context of your questions. You can reach the settings by clicking on your avatar (is that a paddle in your hands? I love floating my canoes!) and don't forget to hit the submit buttons.
again Welcome,
Janine

Congratulations on both your 50th birthday (my birthday is also May 2nd, though not my 50th) and your anniversary.
We're going to be simplifying the forums very soon (the next few weeks), so while there will be more changes, we're hoping this will only make it much easier for people.
There will essentially be one place to submit questions, and there will be moderators to direct the questions to the places on the site where the answer is already present, or they'll direct the questions to one of the faculty to provide some insight. People will also be able to add their own comments, well wishes, or whatever the circumstances dictate.
Sorry for all of the changes, but we needed to make the site operate on a much more stable software system than the one we had outgrown.

I may have a similar viewpoint. I'm trying to return to this board. My old user profile used to be Ken_B. I had to change it through no fault of the site (I was using my work email as identification, but it was changed when I retired).
But I have to say, when the site changed to this new set up about six months ago I was, and remain, absolutely baffled by how to navigate it. I found the old version very intuitive and I find the new version bordering on unusable.
I hate to have come to this state of affairs because I was dependent on it for so much and at the moment I’m going through a particularly disturbing period in my cancer.
Sorry to have tossed this in on this thread, but it seemed appropriate in some sense.

Hi Ken, I'm sorry your having so much trouble at such a difficult time. Things haven't changed yet but it's so close we can almost taste it. May I suggest you try using the selections on the right column to navigate to the lung cancer section. It may first take you to the blog post but you can also get to the forums from there. Or you can follow this link. http://cancergrace.org/lung/recent-lung-thoracic-cancer-forum-activity/
I'll look for your update soon.
