Sorry everyone I had to start a new Topic I couldn't find my previous Topic on this issue! Anyway I'll start with the Good News! Most recent CT July 20, 2012 is still NED! Happy Dancing all over the Place! My Oncologist did say thou I have fluid around my heart where my lung used to be? She ordered another 3Month CT to re check this situation. She is baffled about the bubbling feeling I'm having under my left Rib Cage when I drink or eat. It is right where the accumilation of Fluid is. She's thinking about refering me to a Gastrointesinal Dr. if it doesn't go away or if it gets worse. Does anyone have any idea whay I have to build up of fluid? I do believe it is between the Lung lining. Curious to know what could be causing it?

Hello aunttootsie, Congratulations on NED! What a relief. There's no need for apologies it may be a thread that's been closed to new activity. We are done with changes and we should all experience smooth sailing on the forum from now on.

A doctor will respond to your question. I can't find a quote but I remember, correct me if I'm wrong, that your body is filling the space left by the lobectomy. You didn't ask for a layman's input but can't help it, I wonder if your stomach is pushing against it creating sloshing.

I hope it's nothing to worry about and NED continues, so great,

Can I bother you for a bit of housekeeping? I see a bio which I've pasted below but no signature. Would you create a "signature" so it will show up at the bottom of your posts. A short description of date, dx, tx, and outcomes will give our doctors the context they need to help comment on your requests.
You can access your "signature edit" queue by clicking on your avatar on the left of any of your posts.

Married 34 years two grown Sons 8 Grandchildren 1 Great Grandson another on the way! DX Adenocarcinoma in June of 2011. Surgery to remove Tumor and left lower lobe August 29th 2011. Had 2 treatments Carbo/Taxol and White Count hit the bricks. 11 weeks later started Radiation. Last Pet Scan was Clear! Will either have another try on Chemo or may go on Oral Meds. Well I am on a watch and Wait. New ONC Clevland Clinic is not in my Insurace Network so won't be seeing him anymore! I liked him. New ONC at the Hope Center Dr. Hemrock is very Good. I had NED in May 2012 CT and going today July 20 2012 for CT. One issue were concentrating on is the bubbling feeling in lower left region under the Ribs when I drink and some times eat. Hope to resolve this issue as some side affect of Radiation?

I have to admit this is a new one for me! I'm curious how long the "bubbling" has been going on? Sounds like it has been several months since your radiation and so I wonder if the two are likely to be related or not...Some of the tests that gastroenterologists do can image the esophagus and the stomach--that might be a good idea here. Keep us posted! I'd be interested to know what the GI specialist has to say.

Just want to say congrats on the NED!!!! I will be keeping an eye on this thread to see the outcome of the "bubbling". Hoping that it's nothing but a weird nuisance and clears up soon!

I really just wanted to say congratulations on the good scan result, and to add that, like your doctor and Dr. Johnson, I don't have a real explanation for that bubbling sensation. I'd love to learn if you do get that figured out, though.

Thanks guys! My Med. ONC said I have Fluid in my lower lung lining and it is where I get this weird feeling. I see my Lung Dr. And Radiation ONC this ext week so hopefully they will have some input? It started a month or two after I was done with Radiation TX. I figure I'll either have a upper GI or a Scope? Upper GI is less invasive I figure? Will keep everyone posted!

Still no resolve for the bubbling sensation but either I'm getting use to it or it is subsiding some. I actually forgot to ask both Dr's about it this last CT. Will probably be going to a Gastrolgest in the near future. Right now my ONC is having me go and have the fluid drained and tested. wish me luck!
