Well it's two years since the surgery to remove my lung (3 years since diagnosis) and I received the good news today that there is no sign of recurrence. The doctor, my partner, and I are obviously quite happy about this. My doctor took a chunk of time to explain to me why this is a good milestone. The stats are definitely in my favor and now I only have to go every 6 months for CTs for the next couple of years and annually after that. Absolutely incredible news that I wanted to share with everyone here.

Dr. West - it turns out my oncologist is a fan of the site. He said he had a chance to talk with you at ASCO. He asked you how you can do it. We all wonder that question and appreciate that you do. He is from Medical College of Wisconsin/Froedtert. I feel that he 'gets' the importance of advocates like yourself and he actually thanked me for participating. I couldn't be luckier. --mikem

Operations Director, GRACE

Great news, and I second (third, fourth... ) the kudos to Dr. West. He deserves it.

I really love hearing the positive stories. Keep them coming....

Operations Director for GRACE. Have worked with cancerGRACE.org since July 2009.  Became involved as a caregiver to my best friend, and quickly came to see that GRACE is filling a need in the area of cancer education.
