I am checking for another caregiver who is concerned about her husband. He went through surgery last spring and ended up with 13 additionally surgeries and the inability to heal properly. He was hospitalized for 3 months and unable to start radiation. He now has a bluish spot in his month and she is wondering if this should be a concern. He previously had a blackish-gray spot but because of swelling she is unable to see that now. Could this possibly be dead tissue? Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Dawn, You are very nice to check here for others. I appreciate your confidence in Grace. I'm sorry but we are unable to say whether someone should be concerned about a symptom. It's always best to check with the medical professionals that know the case best in situations like this. How awful to have to endure so many surgeries I hope things are better soon.

Yes, the question of "should I be concerned about ___?" is among our top questions we are not able to answer. If it's of concern, it's worth checking with someone who is directly involved with that person's care.
