First of all... A Big Thank You to all who participate in clinical trials! You make advances in care possible.
Hello All, I'm very proud to be a part of Grace. In the beginning...of the internet, my doctor told me to stay away from it (which I did not) but today the best doctors will give you pointers on how to access good information and often the best help comes from the experiences of others who are or have been there. The web is the perfect place to concentrate your voices into a force that can generate real change.
Please read on and be safe, Janine Patient Perspectives: Clinical Trials Experiences Through StorytellingWe are inviting all cancer patients with experience in clinical trials (no matter how large or small) to join us in this new program giving voice to the clinical trials experience. Through storytelling and sharing their experience, patients can educate others who are considering a clinical trial about this part of the cancer journey. All cancer patients currently enrolled in or with past enrollment in a clinical trial are welcomed and encouraged to apply. Patients selected to participate in this years program will work closely with GRACE to develop new educational content for patients across a range of platforms that will help them to become established contributors in the area of advocacy. Participants will receive training on digitally distributed content and social media, and their work will be highlighted and shared by GRACE, along with its network of established leaders in the oncology community and board members with an array of interestes and connections. Participants will receive a stipend, training in communication and media platforms, and a tech 'package'. Participants will work with GRACE to develop program formats and production and will present a proposal based on their area of experience in a clinical trial program.

Here's a new head and neck cancer video. Not only can't I say enough about how much I appreciate learning about new findings but they speak about the fact that they have different approaches to the same case description. Just knowing that lets me know I need to discuss my goals and options for treatment when there isn't a clear direction. "For this discussion, Drs. Bauml, Weiss, Gold and Mehra discuss what we have learned from Keynote 048: First Line Regiments of Pembrolizumab Monotherapy vs. Pembrolizumab and Chemo for Patients with Recurrent or Metastatic HNSCC"I

The research team at Tulane University is conducting an online survey of individuals with cancer.GRACE has been asked to share information about an anonymous one-time online research study about personality and cancer care. They are looking for adults with a history of cancer. A total number of 2,500 individuals will participate in the study, recruited from various social media platforms and websites dedicated to cancer research and patient support.
The survey takes about 30 minutes and involves personalized feedback about results on a personality test. Additional survey questions will ask about demographics, health history, mood. and feelings about cancer care. Tulane University hopes that the study will build knowledge that can help individuals with cancer to be more satisfied with their care. The Principle Investigator is Laura Perry, MS, Doctoral Candidate, and Faculty Mentor is Michael Hoerger, PhD, MSCR.
