Here's the Agenda

You can access the presenters' slides as they become available by "enter"ing the event and clicking on "Documents" in the left column.

As always, this event is free.  There will be a Q&A at the end of the presentations and discussions.

I’ll post additional information as the event approaches so we can review some of the agenda items together, almost like a pre-event study session.  We welcome your thoughts and your voice in the conversation.

Take care,

Janine

Open with Adobe to Submit your quotes here.

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) is updating its NCCN Guidelines for Patients®, and we’re honored to help by gathering real stories and words of encouragement from patients and caregivers. These quotes will be shared anonymously and will help bring hope and comfort to others navigating their own cancer journeys.

In the coming months, NCCN will be updating patient guides for the following cancers:

  • Acute Myeloid Leukemia
  • Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
  • Lung Cancer Screening
  • Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Immunotherapy Side Effects – Checkpoint Inhibitors
  • Uterine Cancer
  • Melanoma

Your experiences—whether big or small—can make a real difference. By sharing a few words of encouragement or personal experience, you can help others feel seen, supported, and less alone.

Here are a few examples of quotes that have been included in past patient guides:

“When I first discovered the small hard pebble under the skin of my chest wall, I felt sort of silly asking for so much testing for such a tiny bump. But, nearly 10 years later, I realize that this changed my life and may be the reason why I am still here today.”

“The key to managing fear is in making informed decisions. Stay positive, make a plan for yourself, and go forward one step at a time.”

“For weeks my bra had been feeling uncomfortably tight. I tried to ignore it but then felt sharp, shooting pains and the skin looked ‘funny.’ It took multiple office visits and finally to a surgeon to learn I had inflammatory breast cancer (IBC). I'm a nurse and didn't know you could have breast cancer without a lump.”

Sharing experiences is vital to our learning.  Getting a perspective from someone who has been there is often more valuable than getting info through your oncology team.
