Dr. Marco Ruiz is a Medical Oncologist in Hematologic Cancers specializing in leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, myelofibrosis, HIV related malignancies, stem cell transplants, geriatric oncology, and palliative medicine at the Miami Cancer Institute in Miami, Florida. He is also an experienced bone marrow transplant specialist and is active in cancer research. Growing up the son of a nurse, Dr. Ruiz knew at a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. But it was his father’s battle with cancer that sparked a passion for helping patients with the disease.
GRACE sat down with Dr. Marco Ruiz to discuss information regarding acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in elderly patients (Leucemia aguda mieloide (LMA) en la población de tercera edad).
