February is GallBladder and Bile Duct Cancer Awareness Month

Gallbladder Cancer is a rare disease in which malignant cells form in the tissues of the gallbladder.  Bile duct cancer or cholangiocarcinoma is a rare disease in which malignant cells form in the bile ducts.  Help us to bring awareness to these rare cancers during the month of February.  Start talking and raise awareness to Gallbladder and Bile Duct Cancer Awareness

Operations Director for GRACE. Have worked with cancerGRACE.org since July 2009.  Became involved as a caregiver to my best friend, and quickly came to see that GRACE is filling a need in the area of cancer education.

Survivors Month/Glad to be Here

June is National Cancer Survivors Month.  As with many terms used in cancer, not everyone who has incurable cancer sees themselves as a survivor if they aren't going to survive cancer, and some people are happy to take on the mantle of "survivor", no matter the prognosis.

I joined GRACE as a caregiver for my husband who had a Pancoast tumor, NSCLC stage III in 2009. He had curative chemo/rads then it was believed he had a recurrence in the spine/oligometastasis that was radiated. He's 10 years out from treatment.

Management of Indolent vs Aggressive Progression

Hello,

I want to share this video, Cancer Growth Rate and Managing Slow-Growing Lung Cancers.  A lot has changed in treatment and management in the last 8 years but here's one thing that still needs to be considered.

When someone's cancer progresses how aggressively should its management be?  Often it depends on how relatively fast or slow or how widespread the progression is.

I joined GRACE as a caregiver for my husband who had a Pancoast tumor, NSCLC stage III in 2009. He had curative chemo/rads then it was believed he had a recurrence in the spine/oligometastasis that was radiated. He's 10 years out from treatment.
