As part of the 2025 Blood Cancer Video Library, where oncologists discuss the most emerging treatment options and information in blood cancer, Dr. Shaji Kumar (Mayo Clinic) discusses optimal strategies for the treatment of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM).

The article describes the AVO treatment, a combination therapy for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), particularly for high-risk patients. CLL is a slow-growing cancer where abnormal white blood cells accumulate. "High-risk" CLL refers to cases with specific genetic changes (e.g., in TP53) that make the disease harder to treat.

Invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma

Discussion Topic

Just found this site and am looking for some information about lung IMA. I was diagnosed May, 2020 and had left lower lung lobectomy. The tumor was small relatively 1.7cm x 1.0 cm (it had doubled in size following an incidental CT for kidney stone in 2019). No lymphatic, vascular or pleural spread but there was STAS. ,It was a solitary tumor, not the pneumatic type. My thoracic surgeon is following with every 6 month scans. So my next scan coming up in June will be 24 months cancer free, hopefully.

Colon Cancer With Possible Metastasis

Discussion Topic

I am inquiring on behalf of my sister-in-law who was diagnosed with stage three colon and rectal cancer in July 2020. She is 53 years old and a former smoker. She underwent chemotherapy for six months, followed by six weeks of radiation, and in April 2020 she had surgery to remove the tumor in her sigmoid. At that time, 17 od her lymph nodes were removed and all were clear, so she was restaged to stage two.
