With a heavy heart I am informing you all that my husband Prakash Paira left us for his heavenly abode on 5th April 2013 at 5:00pm.
He was suffering from distension, pain the abdomen and inability to eat because of feeling of fullness. Two litres of metastatic ascitic fluid had been tapped just a week back and for one or two days he was able to eat but then went back to the same position. We thought maybe the fluid had re-accumulated. But an ultra sound sowed that there was no fluid. The doctor even said maybe the Taxotere is working. We were happy.
I went to s room and saw that he was having an episode of breathlessness, they were giving him nebuliser with oxygen. Then he said he felt nauseaus so I tod him to just regurgitate into my hands on some paper towels, he regurgitated a greenish bile from his mouth and then the same liquid flowed out of his mouth and he sudden lifted his head and died.
The end came swiftly and unexpectedly. I am happy that he did not have to go through the long drawn out process of hospice etc.
Thank you all for your continued support during tis journey.
Nini (Apra)

Thank you for your kind words. My husband's funeral coverage is available at the link below, i hope my posting this link is ok. God gave him so much honour on his last journey.
He died from massive UGI bleeding and cardiac respiratory arrest. I was not alone. I was surrounded by doctors and nurses.

I'm not sure how you pronounce your name but had to say my nephew called me ne ne (long e sound) that caught on throughout my family when I was a teen.

Thank you Janine, Marisa and Aunttootsie,
Janine, yes, my name is pronounced with a long e sound, so I'm sure our names were similar. In my language it means double happiness.
Prakash was a wonderful man. I am so happy God allowed me to meet and marry him. We have some heartaches because we never had a bucket list with him. So I advise everyone don't be afraid of hard talks about last wishes, and don't be afraid and be in denial if a doctor says the end s nearing. We were unable to accept it so we regret that we did not have some deep talks with him.
Thank you all once again.
Nini

Dearest Nini - I offer you hugs filled with sympathy and support. Your husband's life meant something to so many, mostly you, and what a wonderful man. I cried reading your link with admiration for him and sadness for you and your beautiful family.
My husband, Amos, also just left his body for heavenly flight on 4/17/13. My only relief is that he no longer suffers. At his memorial service, one of the speakers said, "Amos made me want to be a better man" and the entire crowd broke out applauding in agreement. It was surreal and comforting. I am honored to be his wife and I will continue to honor him, as his widow. Love is stronger than death.
Please know, your presence on Grace has always been comforting to me.
Many prayers and continued support. - Megan

Dear Dear Megan,
I am so sorry for your loss. Amos must have been a wonderful man. 43 years is way too young, but the Bible says when we are absent in the body, we are present with the Lord. Our husbands are present with the Lord now. Amos, a life that inspired others to be better persons. Wow, what more can we ask. Such should be the goal of everyone who comes to planet earth. You are blessed to have walked with this man.
On the night my husband left for heaven, as my daughter struggled to come to terms with the fact her daddy was no more, God led her to Psalm 21:2-6. '...... He asked life of thee and you gave it to him, length of days forevermore .... You gave him a crown of pure gold...'
These verses comforted her so much, she was able to sleep and her splitting headache was gone.
Megan, God is good. He will be with us as we go through the coming years holding close to our hearts the memory of our wonderful husbands and fathers. My nephew spoke at his funeral and said as a father, his uncle, my husband was unparalleled. Such wonderful tributes humbles us. Thank you for reading the link. Keep in touch. My email address is ninisekhose@yahoo.com.
