I'm not dead yet, Janine. Not perfect with tolerable symptoms, creeping progression, and reasonable side effects from my current experimental drug of choice (TPX-0005 for ROS1), but still functioning fine for most things. I'm still a little active in the narrowed-topic facebook group for ROS1 patients (and occasionally I comment in the ALK group there). FWIW, I still think facebook is a lousy infrastructure for cancer groups, and the ALK one seems to be preparing to migrate to their own.

I booked my overpriced hotel for the upcoming ASCO 2018 conference, so I guess I'll have to go again, eh? (7 years!).C

I have diverted some of energy to support my Dad (who died a couple months ago and I'll be dealing with his stuff for months or years) and to support a person struggling to get her live back on track (despite some kind of undiagnosed disorder and financial crisis).

Although it's certainly good to hear from you, I'm very sorry to hear about your dad. My sincere condolences on your loss. I hope that you can help your friend as you have helped so many GRACE members.

Yes, the prices can be ridiculous for hotels in Chicago (my home for most of my life). Lisa and I will most likely be there for at least some part of ASCO, so perhaps our paths will cross this year.

Hi Craig, glad to hear you're still with us. Hoping all begins to even out for you. My sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad. I'm not part of the group on FB obviously since I"m not ALK or ROS1. Just stop in once in a while to let us know how you're doing, we care!

Thanks for in with us you are checking. :) I sometimes try to keep my prepositions properly placed just to prove to myself it's OK to stray...both ways. As the daughter of grammar snob and elite secretary I think about these things.

I'm so sorry about your dad's passing. No words can convey, so I'm sending my condolences to you and yours and thinking about my mom who I miss dearly. I hope your friend can get some semblance of balance in her life. Interventions with doctors and drugs can be quite effective and can also be as difficult to get done as easily said.

You're response reminds me of peoples' responses when Don was starting to be seen around town alive. It was disquieting for me. I'm sorry if it's disturbing to you for people to want to know how you are because it does suggest you may conversely be dead. But as Judy says, we care! You've become such a helpful advocate that we want you to choose the next experimental drug to work for ever.
