Short history: Initial CT scan Aug 2012. PET/CT Oct 2012. VATs biopsy done Nov. 2012; DX with Stage IV adenocarcinoma with BAC features. Watch and wait. F/U CT Scans and MRI's done in Dec 2012 and March 2013. Each CT scan shows slight improvement (decrease in size or density). Now MD states he is going to downstage to 1A, and continue with watch and wait. Said possibility that what is showing up is resolving inflammation. The last URI was in August of 2012. Stopped smoking Halloween 2012. How long could inflammation show up?

Inflammation could remain for months or even years. I would say that improvement over time is very "un-cancer-like", so there's good reason to question whether the other lesions are actually the same process if they're improving without any anti-cancer treatment.
Good luck!
