Back in March I posted that at my 18th month check-up a small (5mm) nodule had been found in my lower left lobe. My Oncologist chose to wait 3 months and look at it again/ Last week I had a new PET scan and although there was no unusual uptake, the lesion had grown an additional 3 mm. The radiology reported that it was suspicious of a metastatic lesion or either a new lesion. My Oncologist wants to attack it aggressively and I will see the surgeon this Wednesday. My oncologist also said that he was going to place me on a regimen of Cisplatin and Alitma. It looks like I am faced with another lobectomy.

Hi Charlie,
This isn't the news you wanted to hear. Another lobectomy sounds like a lot so they must be hoping for great results. That is where I'll keep my hopes and thoughts.

I'm so sorry you're back in the game. Please let us know if you have questions and keep us posted and by all means vent, this is your thread. You've been handed an awful awful hand.

I'm very sorry to hear about the growing nodule. As Janine said, this is disappointing, but if there's a value in being diligent about repeat scans, it's so that we can identify new findings while they're still curable.
