New Site to go LIVE September 4/5, 2018 - 1295182

Forums

Hello Friends —
We are scheduled to go live with our new GRACE site on September 4 around 3 pm, barring no showstoppers.

The majority of your accounts have been migrated to the new site, except for the newest ones. Those people will need to re-setup their accounts, my true apologies. Everyone else will need to re-sign in and set up their profiles, with new passwords. (sorry – we couldn’t bring all of your information over. I wish we could have).

Did 3 brain CT scans in the period of 2 months - question - 1295172

Forums

I did 3 brain CT scans in the period of two months, the first two in the first weeks of July and the other on the last week of August.

I know that CTs are harmful because of radiation, but could this make me die from radiation poisoning? What is the limit of CTs one can do in the period of 1 year?

best time to begin treatment of cancerous tumor - 1295162

Forums

I can't seem to find an answer to my question concerning is it is better to start treatment sooner for a cancerous tumor when it is small and less complex or is there no difference in waiting until it is larger and more complex. I.E. Is treatment better when the tumor is 20mm in size or 60mm in size? IS the blood supply much more developed in a tumor that grew for a year making it more difficult to treat? Both examples of this tumor are stage four metastatic NSCLC adenocarcinoma. Thanks!
David

cards7up celebrates 5 years! - 1295155

Forums

cards7up posted a thread over on inspire today "5 Years Ago Today"

that tells her remarkable story of 5 year survival after a relapse of NSCLC.

I thought the GRACE community could also celebrate and acknowledge the remarkable contributions cards7up makes to help other people who are facing similarly difficult situations.

Identifying lymph node involvement with VATs surgery - 1295137

Forums

After VATs wedge surgery for a 1a Squamous nodule in my RLL, the oncology surgeon said that he couldn't find any lymph nodes to biopsy. The pathology report said the tumor abuts the pleura, but doesn't infiltrate into it. Surgical resection margins were free of tumor. The tumor had been poorly differentiated, and there was evidence of lympho-vascular invasion.
