What's the difference between wild type and non-wild type of the K-RAS mutation? I can't seem to find any info on the non-wild type. Would they be treated the same? Does the non-wild type have a worse prognosis?
Take care, Judy

wild type just means a person doesn't have the mutation.
So a person who's K RAS wild type doesn't have the mutation. I've not heard the term non wild type.

Right. Wild type = no mutation. KRAS mutation positive tends to be associated with a worse prognosis in NSCLC, though not every study shows that. Some show no significant difference in prognosis between KRAS mutation positive and KRAS wild type.

So there is no non-wild type? Or is that what you're calling KRAS mutation positive?
