Hi there-
My mom was Dx back in spring of 2014 with nsclc stage 4. She currently is on medi 4736 with Tremi and is doing well on it. She is able to handle the side effects and has been getting great scans. It's a 2 year trial so we are crossing our fingers and toes that all continues to go well. My mom did test negative for the PLD-1 protein. This didn't seem to discourage her drs as she shows no evidence of progression. She went over 9 months NED, and then during a routine CT scan a lymph node looked "puffy" sonthat is why she started trial. They are watching her closely and she gets CTscans every 8 weeks. Currently, she is only receiving medi as the Tremi has dropped off. This is every 14 days.
We are very thankful to the drs and staff at Rush in Chicago. Because of their excellent care, my mom continues to thrive

Hi dtkb328,
Hi dtkb328,
Glad your mom is doing well on the immunotherapy! My wife was diagnosed Stage IV NSCLC (HER2 mutation) in spring of 2015 and is on a trial at University of Chicago, and we are similarly blessed and thankful for the great doctors and staff at both University Northshore and University of Chicago. It has been a great relief to be in an area with such wonderful resources.
May your Mom continue her great results on the trial for a very long time!

Hi dtkb328,
Hi dtkb328,
That's great news about your mom and her response to the trial! Thanks for sharing that with us, as we always like to hear good news. In this case in particular, it's encouraging to hear about a patient who is getting a good response from immunotherapy despite low PD-L1 expression.
I hope she continues to respond well for a long time!

Thanks for kind words. I hope
Thanks for kind words. I hope that my mom continues to have great success on this trial. We are aware that medi hasn't been very successful in the past with patients who do test negative for the protien. But, it was explained that hopefully the Tremi will help support it and she will continue to keep the beast away. Tomorrow is a scan- I'll keep you all posted.

That's great news! We love this kind of post!
I hope your mom has a great time on her break and heals from side effects. I so look forward to know how she does. As you probably know there is some evidence that she could do well without treatment for longer than normal following immunotherapy.
All best,
Janine
