Mother-in-Law was diagnosed with NSCLC and after a blood biopsy, doctor is recommending Osimertinib. I tried searching on the main page, but it wasn't working. Can anyone share their experiences? She is 83 and has dementia.

I'm so sorry your mother-in-law is dealing with lung cancer with everything else going on. It's good to hear she was given a blood biopsy it's very exciting to know people won't always need a tissue biopsy for mutation testing. Osimertinib, brand name tagrisso and in some countries tagrix has been used in people with a subset of nsclc with very good results. The side effect profile is about as good as it gets for anti cancer drugs with the major side effects being rash and diarrhea, most of which can be managed. And since it is a pill you don't need to go in to the office for treatment. Osimertinib has recently been approved by FDA as first line treatment. This makes osimertinib an good choice for those who have comorbidities.
I'm sorry that Grace is not easy to navigate at the moment. We just moved to a new site and still have work to be done. It should continue to get better.

I joined GRACE as a caregiver for my husband who had a Pancoast tumor, NSCLC stage III in 2009. He had curative chemo/rads then it was believed he had a recurrence in the spine/oligometastasis that was radiated. He's 10 years out from treatment.
