Signs of return - 1268803

Has anyone else noticed a relationship between feeling a certain way and then learning of progression? For instance this is the second time I have felt what feels like a pulled muscle around my shoulder blade and come to find out there is something there. I've also noticed when I feel this I notice I take deep breaths here and there with more emphasis on the exhalation. I wouldn't say I'm having any shortness of breath though. I also feel a tightness across my chest relieved by belching. I'm scheduled for my next scan this week but am feeling this familiar feeling again and just curious if anyone else has certain signs that tell you it's back before you get the report?

It is normal to have symptoms when cancer is progressing and shoulder pain is a common place for it to happen. But as you are entering an extremely stressful time I want to remind you that it isn't a 1 to 1 correspondence and you can have or notice sensations even when there is no cancer progression. My husband is a good example. He was very sick and in much pain when dx over 5 years ago. Even though he has NED (no evidence of disease) he still has pain in his shoulder from damage done. When scan time comes around and it's been 3 years NED, he has more pain. Chalk it up to stress and anxiety. It even has a name scanxiety ;) If it never comes back I wouldn't be surprised if at 90 he still has more pain or hopefully just sensations by then when scan time comes around. It's real, your body's way of saying something is up, which is an understatement.

My money is on anxiety driven sensation/pain/feeling and not cancer. I hope your scans are good please let us know.
