June is National Cancer Survivors Month.  As with many terms used in cancer, not everyone who has incurable cancer sees themselves as a survivor if they aren't going to survive cancer, and some people are happy to take on the mantle of "survivor", no matter the prognosis.

Wherever you land on that spectrum of survivorship, I want to celebrate this month with you and your loved ones.  It doesn't matter if you move through treatments and day-to-day activities kicking and screaming or with grace; you deserve all the little kindnesses your community has to offer.  Take those kindnesses and tell them how to make it better (we as a community often need help on how to help :)).

Below are a couple of posts that speak about survivorship:

Lung cancer survivor, Juanita Segura shared her story with us 5 years ago and is still advocating for patients and dancing.  Here's her FB page.

All the best hopes,

Janine

I joined GRACE as a caregiver for my husband who had a Pancoast tumor, NSCLC stage III in 2009. He had curative chemo/rads then it was believed he had a recurrence in the spine/oligometastasis that was radiated. He's 10 years out from treatment.
