Tagrisso Side Effects - 1289949

I have been on Tagrisso (40mg) since January 2016. I have weak nails, dry skin, paranicheas, skin splits, fatigue, and occasional diarrhea. I nap in the afternoon, and take meticulous care of my nails and feets, filing rough spots and moisturizing with Salicylic Acid Cream 6%

This summer I started having severe nausea, without vomiting, and the only medicine that helped was Zyprexa. I have been on and off this medicine since September and have a love hate relationship with it. Although I am on a relatively low dose of 2.5mg, it is sedating and causes significant weight gain and bloat, which is very uncomfortable.

Hi Casie,

I'm sorry to hear of all the trouble you've had with Tagrisso side effects; it is quite reminiscent of the toxicities my wife experienced with Tarceva. It does sound as though you are doing the things you need to do to minimize those side effects.

As Dr. West wrote here (item 2), Zyprexa (olanzapine) has been shown to be effective when standard anti-nausea medications have failed, but as you've experienced it can have some difficult side effects of its own.

I hope you continue to get good results from Tagrisso, and that you are able to keep the nausea under control.
