Boone Wilder Goodgame, MD, grew up in Uganda, where his father taught at the nation’s only medical school. He moved to Texas at age 14, where he completed high school. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in mechanical engineering, and completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Dr. Goodgame completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in hematology and oncology at Barnes Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He remained at Washington University on faculty, providing clinical care to cancer patients and conducting clinical and translational research in lung cancer, working in close collaboration with the Genome Sequencing Center.

Dr. Goodgame returned home to Austin, Texas in 2010 to join the Seton Healthcare Family as the medical director of the Shivers Cancer Center. He is proud to be on faculty of the country’s newest medical school, the Dell Medical School at UT Austin, and he enjoys all the outdoor experiences that Austin has to offer.
