Dr. Jack West is a medical oncologist and thoracic oncology specialist, and Executive Director of Employer Services at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Duarte, CA. He is the Founder, and serves as President &CEO of the Global Resource for Advancing Cancer Education (GRACE) and Beacon Medical Interchange, LLC.
Dr. West received an M. Phil. in Experimental Biology from Cambridge University on a Fulbright Scholarship before returning to the US to undertake his medical training at Harvard Medical School in Boston, where he earned his MD magna cum laude and conducted research as a Howard Hughes Medical Student Fellow. He stayed in Boston for his internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, then moved to Seattle, Washington for his fellowship in medical oncology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center/University of Washington. He moved to the Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle in late 2002, where he directed the medical oncology component of thoracic oncology program. He moved to City of Hope in March, 2019 to build programs to export subspecialty insights to patients across a broad geography.
Dr. West maintains a strong clinical research focus on lung cancer and has authored dozens of peer-reviewed as well as invited publications. He also serves as Web Editor for JAMA Oncology and a section editor and author for the lung cancer section of UpToDate. Finally, he continues to develop a wide range of novel educational content across many platforms for other physicians, patients, and caregivers through GRACE, Beacon Medical Interchange, and Medscape.

Beacon Medical Interchange is a venture founded in 2016 by Dr. Jack West to facilitate communication of medical experts with industry leaders on the evolution of medical care trends in general and cancer management in particular.
