After graduating from Oregon Health & Science University with her medical degree, Dr. Rachel Sanborn completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Then she returned to Portland for her Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Oregon Health & Science University. She is board-certified in medical oncology and internal medicine.
Dr. Sanborn is the Co-Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program, Robert W. Franz Cancer Research Center, Earle A. Chiles Research Institute at Providence Cancer Center. She is also an Institutional Review Board Member for Providence Portland Medical Center. Dr. Sanborn is a member of several groups, including the American College of Surgeons Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, National Lung Cancer Partnership, and Women Against Lung Cancer.
