We need to transport our biopsy slides (box HE slides) ourselves for a few hours in traffic from one side of the city to the other. How best to do this? The car has air conditioning -- but should samples be kept on ice? I presume that they should avoid getting wet at all costs.
(I thought that this is usually done by medical courier, but I am told that a medical courier isn't at our immediate avail.)
If we need to keep the samples ourselves a few days -- can that (theoretically) be done in a fridge or at room temperature? (This is a tropical country.)
Thanks,

H&E slides are already treated. I don't think there's any specific protocol. They are often just sent in the mail from one city to another.
If there are any specific issues, the pathology department from which you picked up the slides should offer any handling instructions.
