Hi everyone, I hope this beautiful day finds you all pain free.
I have had a few headaches this past month. I don't get headaches a lot.
I was at my GP S office and my wonderful man decided to mention these headaches. They were incapacitating enough to make me go to bed. Now my GP has ordered a MRI this Wednesday.
I had VAT Surgery , April 10th , 2013. 1b adenocarcinoma no chemo or radiation needed thank goodness. Now knowing that brain mets CAN happen within 1-2 years I am a wee bit concerned.
Has anyone else had headaches and it was just nothing but ordinary headaches?
I should also mention that I get easily confused and forgetful. Have also had dizziness. But I am on 12mg hydromorphcontins in a.m. and 9 mg 2x thereafter so this may also be a cause of confusion etc.
I am worried of course. Thankyou for any reassurances or answers .

I have had a rare patient who has been found to have one or more brain metastases a year or two after surgery. I have had far more patients who have just happened to have had headaches, and in whom the imaging we did found nothing worrisome.

For what it's worth, headaches are one of the leading reasons that people see a doctor for a problem (right up there with back pain). Cancer is only a very rare cause for headaches, so I would hope that you not presume the worst. If you find one or more metastases, there is a way to treat that. If not, the scan will prove very reassuring.

Good luck!

If your GP were truly tactful, she might have said your brain looks wise, not old, but I'm nitpicking.

Congratulations!
