I have breast cancer. Up to now I had 2 courses of chemotherapy with FEC. After the first course I had febrile neutropenia (12 days after the chemo, Leu were 0,4), agranulocitosis and afterwards - abscess in the breast aroud the impant. My chemo was delayd with 9 days and doses were reduced with 20-25%. The second chemo was on 21.05.15. 2 days after the second chemo, on 23.05.2015, I was applied Neolasta s.c. On 25.05.2015, my leucocytes were 39,9. Today, 26.05.2015, my leucocytes were 26,7. Is this increase ine Leu number "normal"? Is pegfilgrastim reccommended also for the next courses? May be doses increased again if Neolasta is administered?

Depending on the timing of the CBC, the WBC can be high after Neulasta. While it is typical for neulasta to be given for all courses of the FEC once it is started, it is really an individual decision that your oncologist will need to make based on your clinical condition and the way you tolerate the drug. The same is true for the decision of whether or not to increase the doses of the chemotherapy.
