Hi bdmoore,
Hi bdmoore,
Welcome to GRACE. I am sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis. As you've probably been told, thyroid cancer does not tend to be aggressive, so that is a positive factor.
At this time, we don't have many thyroid cancer resources on GRACE, but the American Cancer Society has a good series of pages beginning here. The list in the right-hand column includes pages on surgery and other treatments, including post-surgery treatment with radioactive iodine.
On a personal note, a member of my family was diagnosed with thyroid cancer over twenty years ago, had his thyroid removed and received radioiodine therapy with great results; he never had a subsequent issue with it.
Good luck to you and your wife.
