I have a lump on my right side. It is fairly close to top of chest. I currently have neck pain. This could be stress. Also have shoulder pain but have a bucket tare of the shoulder which could be the cause. The lump is elongated about an inch long. It seems to move. I am worried that it is a tumor or even pancoast. Had CT scan but came back as just a muscle deformation. Have the paper at work with the formal findings. Afraid that it is wrong. Surgeon said to call if it gets bigger. I am unable to determine, at this time, if its getting bigger. Will update with formal Ct findings tomorrow.

I haven't read anywhere where someone has stated it is possible to feel a pancoast tumor on the chest.

I've never read or heard of a pancoast tumor on the chest. A pancoast tumor grows at the apex of the lung and into the back chest wall toward the back ribs, vertebra, and brachial plexus and I've never heard that one could feel the mass. Follow up with your doctor. A CT scan should be able to tell the difference between a muscle and cancer.

I hope you do well.
All best,
Janine

I understand your concern so it's probably helpful to know lung cancer is usually not related to inherited genes.
