Adenocarcinoma. What's next? - 1271134

Hello everyone. I've been reading through all the wonderful information here for a few weeks while my father was being investigated for lung cancer. He's a 65 year old life long non smoker with no other comorbidities. He's in excellent shape. He's had a persistent cough for a few months now and no other symptoms. He was just diagnosed with adenocarcinoma with a mass in the right upper/middle lobe with extension into hilum with mediastinal lymph nodes and left supraclavicular node involvement.

I was treated for stage IIIA adeno in 2012. Had surgery, chemo and radiation. Was fine until this week. I have been having back/side pain for many months which is increasing in pain (severe, all the time) and going to the chiropractor did not help at all. Both my PCP and oncologist did not think my back/side pain was related to previous lung cancer.

Well, I had a CT scan this with of the chest/abdomen. Only contrast for the abdomen as I am highly allergic to the IV chest CT dye.

This is what was found (everything else fine):

Five year survivor - 1271120

Hi Janine, hard to believe it's been a year. Just to let you all know that I just passed my five year scan. Everything is fine, it doesn't seem like five years since I was terrified by a dx of lung cancer. I knew nothing about it but thanks to you and Inspire I soon learned it was not a death sentence. No question just to offer hope to other frightened people.

I will try to be as succinct as possible:

2006:

CT scan revealed a few subcentimeter foci of decreased attenuation in liver that were too small to characterize and unchanged. Mild elevation of right hemidiaphragm. 9mm density in right upper lung.

2007: CT chest w/woc:

minimally enhancing hepatic lesion not well visualized. Additional hepatic hypodensity too small for characterization. Right renal hypodensity too small for characterization.

2008: CT Chest w/woc:
