Visceral Pleural Invasion T3 N1 M0 - 1268897

I have searched visceral pleural invasion and Stage III but I can't find answers. I am sorry if I have missed something. My husband who is 71 and a never smoker (but exposed to asbestos) had a left pneumonectomy in October for adenocarcenoma 7.2cm (pT3N1M0). Only yesterday did we think to ask for a copy of the pathology report. It mentions 'completely excised', but also says there was visceral pleural invasion. Neither the surgeon nor the oncologist has ever mentioned this.

how to choose 2nd line treatment? - 1268876

So sadly mom's new tumors do not have mutations and her Dr. has left the decision of what treatment to try next up to her. He would like her to do Taxol but the dreaded hair falling out seems to be pretty significant to my mom. The other options are Taxotere or Navelbine.

I'm struggling to find out what the 2nd line can or may offer her. Obviously the more aggressive seems like a good path but at what cost? How much can it help?

Tarceva progression and Chemo not effective, what next? - 1268859

My husband was diagnosed Stg IV NSCLC December 2013. Poorly defined adenocarcinoma posive EGFR. Progressed to adrenal gland, lymph node, shoulder, spine, hips. Tarceva was pretty rough at 150 but at 100 it was tolerable. Remarkable response on tarceva. Eight good months before progression. First to bones, then adrenal gland. Biospy showed T790 negatve. Started chemo Jan 2015. Stopped Tarceva two days before starting chemo. Carbo, Alitma, Avastan. Chemo side effects extremely harsh. And symptons continued to progress, with pain throughout the body.

Treatment for pleomorphic carcinoma - 1268821

My dad (66 years) was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pleomorphic carcinoma. The pathology report for the biopsy shows positive for TTF-1, Napsin A, CK7 and negative for CK20 and weakly positive for CK5/6. It is also negative for EGFR and ALK. So my oncologist recommended chemo with Alimta (Pemetrexed) and Carboplatin (Paraplatin). I did some reading and learned that this is a rare and aggressive cancer that is less researched and difficult to treat.
