Went to the ER due to lung bleeding. Had an xray the CAT scan. I was told that they found a mass and it may have broke through my chest wall. The suspected it was cancer due to size and shape. They suggested I follow up with biopsy. Went to lung doctor and he ordered PETscan to see if it had spread then the biopsy two days after on the mass. In the meantime I've had three other bleeds one while I was asleep that almost choked me. The PETscan is the 16th of this month. To say I'm worried would be an understatement. Is it normal for the lungs to be bleeding, I mean is it something I should call the doctor about. Maybe try to get PETscan earlier?

Hi Kevin,
Hi Kevin,
Welcome to GRACE. I'm sorry to hear of the symptoms you're experiencing and the concerning scan results. Bleeding in the lungs is certainly not normal, although not uncommon. Usually it's a good idea to report new, continuing or concerning symptoms to your doctor or visit the ER, although we can't advise you what to do. If it's not something to worry about, your doctor or the ER staff will tell you and you can rest easy. If it is of concern, then your doctor can recommend the appropriate intervention.
I hope that you will get some reassurance from your doctor.

Hi Kevin,
Hi Kevin,
I just wanted to say welcome and I hope you get the best of news. Don't hesitate to return to let us know how things go or ask further questions if this is cancer. I hope it's not.
All best,
Janine
