My Mothe in-law was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in April and have had 6 chemotherapy and 10 sittings of radiation. He CEA level was 66% in July and now its down to 22%. Is this showing the recovery from lung cancer?

Hi nikitash8,

Welcome to GRACE. I am sorry to hear of your mother-in-law's diagnosis. CEA is not always a reliable marker in lung cancer, but it is definitely better that it is going down. The two best ways to know if her treatment has been effective are follow-up scans showing shrinkage of her tumors, and an overall improvement in how she feels.

I hope that her next scans provide good news!
