Hello All!

My name is Jen and I work as a Patient Advocate. I currently a patient that I am working with that diagnosed with a Sarcomatoid Carcinoma of the lung. (Very Rare Cancer). I am trying to identify another individual or other individuals that have also been diagnosed with the same form of Cancer and connect with my patient as she feels this will be very helpful for her. If you know of some please feel free to message me.

Thanks!

Jen

Hi Jen,

Welcome to Grace.  I hope your patient finds others to talk to.  If you haven't you might want to try the forum support group https://forums.lungevity.org/

Since PSC (Pulmonary Sarcomatoid Carcinoma) is such a rare type of mesothelioma I want to make sure you and your patient know about its connection with the MET mutation and possible treatment options.  From http://ascopubs.org/doi/abs/10.1200/jco.2015.62.0674 "Mutational events of MET leading to exon 14 skipping are frequent and potentially targetable events in PSC."

Best of luck,

Janine

I joined GRACE as a caregiver for my husband who had a Pancoast tumor, NSCLC stage III in 2009. He had curative chemo/rads then it was believed he had a recurrence in the spine/oligometastasis that was radiated. He's 10 years out from treatment.
