Dear Grace,
I have another question regarding the PD-L1 clinical trials as possible treatment option for my father (adeno with malign pleural effusion). Are there any indications on how the treatment works on people with malignant effusion? Is the PD-l1 expression higher in people with malignant effusion?
Kind Regards

These things aren't known yet because they are still so early in trials.
I don't know if you've seen our latest pdl-1 blogs, http://cancergrace.org/lung/tag/immune-checkpoint-inhibitor/

Yes, just to confirm that I agree with Janine that there's simply no evidence yet to speak to this question. In general, our systemic cancer treatments work throughout the overall extent of the cancer. There is no identified treatment for advanced cancer that is recognized for being particularly active or inactive for malignant pleural effusions.
