My husband just had a port placed in his chest less than 2 weeks ago and now he wants to go site in his rifle by using the shoulder on the same side. I say not safe. Help!

The powerport instructions simply say that normal daily activities are fine, but that you should ask your nurse or doctor about others. I read through some comments on a shooting discussion site (it's an archery group, but rifle shooting is mentioned in this discussion also): http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2012714 The contributor who seemed to have the most experience had continued to do some shooting, but in the last post he said "I'm able to do almost every activity save for some serious martial arts and higher recoil shoulder mounted firearms."
I would recommend that he ask his doctor, specifically describing what kind of rifle he'd be using, and let his doctor make a recommendation.
