My husband has had a productive cough noted after he eats a meal. He has a lot of sinus drainage with it and a congested cough. At times he will cough up a small amount of clear fluid. He does not have increased heartburn during these episodes. Just about 10 minutes of increased sinus drainage and cough.
He has a history of radiation and talc pleurodesis. This only seems to occur after eating or first thing in the morning...all with sinus drainage. Can reflux cause a congested cough?

Reflux can definitely cause a cough, but it's more typically a dry cough than a productive one. I don't have a good explanation for a productive cough noted consistently after eating meals, but I suppose reflux is as likely as anything.
