Scar tissue itself doesn't continue to grow after the initial assault and healing process to the lungs. However radiation continues to work to kill cells up to several weeks post treatment so the inflammation and scar tissue continue to develop in that time frame. Also with lung scarring also comes a higher probability of infection which appears a lot like scarring.
I hope all is well and this is just a scare.
