What would be the third line treatment in a squamous NSCLC patient?
Diagnosed in 02/12 with IIIB stage.
1st line: Carboplatin/Vinorelbine 4 rounds plus 35 radiotherapy sessions. Ended 05/12
2nd line: Docetaxel 6 rounds . Started 07/13 and scans showed stable disease until now.
I have one more question, could cancer stay stable for more time?
Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Marga,
Hi Marga,
The new 2nd/3rd line treatment for squamous nsclc is nivo an immunotherapy that has shown much better results than docetaxel. Here is a link to a blog post on the subject, http://cancergrace.org/lung/2015/03/04/immunotherapy-opdivo-nivolumab-a…
Even though it's not effective for 100% of people with squam nsclc it's the most promising drug to come along for it in a long time.
Normally squamous isn't a indolent as yours but it does happen. Some are even more slower to grow than yours but even more unusual to happen. Doctors normally see squam nsclc grow in 3 or 6 months after discontinuing treatment. Also some people's cancer respond better than others. The saying is responders respond. You sound like you have both attributes. If my husband still has cancer he does too. I know it doesn't always feel like a good thing to him though.
I hope your cancer stays put for a long time to come.
